Wednesday Chief Executive Officer of Yahoo Marissa Mayer stated that if her company did not comply with data requests from the National Security Agency they could face prison time. At a conference in San Francisco Mayer said Yahoo reviews US government requests for user data and opposes ones they view as illegitimate but feared being branded a traitor if they do not comply. Mayer also discussed the peculiar situation of attempting to remain transparent to customers while yielding to classified information requests from the NSA.
