A hacker group calling itself Snapchat DB posted usernames and phone numbers of 4.6 million users of Snapchat on New Year’s Eve. Snapchat, the growing private messaging app, acknowledged the leak on Thursday, apologizing for the weakness and assuring users that changes were on the way. All the phone numbers released publicly were not complete, with Snapchat DB blocking the last two digits. The hacker group said they were working to raise awareness on the flaw in the chat service and not attempting to harm the company or users.
