Privacy Advocacy Groups launch Global Action Against Mass Surveillance

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), and Access and Privacy International, have launched a new campaign centered around 13 policies they say governments must follow to protect human rights in the digital world. The “Necessary and Proportionate Principles” is being supported by a number of organizations including the Chaos Computer Club, Center for Internet & Society-India, Center for Technology and Society at Fundação Getulio Vargas, Digitale Gesellschaft, Digital Courage, OpenMedia.ca, Open Rights Group, Fundacion Karisma, and more. The completed petition will be delivered to the United Nations.
