According to a poll conducted by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research Americans have a growing distrust for the governments ability to fix the problems facing the nation. The poll continues a trend of Americans believing the country is heading in the wrong direction. Seventy percent of those polled said they lacked confidence in the governments ability “to make progress on the important problems and issues”. The top issues Americans would like the government to work on in 2014 were health care, jobs, the economy, national debt and spending.
