Houston Police Department Issues Body Cams for 100 Officers

On December 9th the Houston Police Department launched a pilot program arming 100 officers with “body cams”. The cameras are being worn by officers in five divisions of HPD including Special Operations, and the Crime Reduction Unit. The cameras are record audio and video and come at a total cost of $2,500.
