Houston Activists creating Community Recycling program with 3d Printers

The Liberty Beat

Activists in Houston are preparing to launch a community recycling initiative that will involve 3d printers, plastic recycling, and a machine called the Filabot. Plastic will be collected from the community and then inserted into the Filabot and turned into the plastic filament used as “ink” for 3d printers. With the help of local hackerspace TX/RX the filament will be printed into useful items for the community that can be used to raise funds for charity. Another idea is to use the filament to 3d print gardening hand tools.
