Hello Friends and Family!
It’s a new year and we have big things planned for the coming months. One of the first things we are putting in action is our plan to step up our community work and outreach in the suburbs that surround downtown Houston where the majority of the Houston Free Thinkers work is done.
On facebook we have pages for the Katy, Cypress, Spring, Richmond and Clear Lake Free Thinkers. These pages have gone largely unused but now we are taking steps to make them more functional. At our meetings we seem to get a great amount of support coming from Spring, Tomball, Katy, Cypress, Jersey Village and other parts of West/North West Houston.
In an effort to accommodate those who are coming from those parts of town we are holding our first meeting for the North West Houston Free Thinkers! We were lucky enough to get a spot at the Southern Apache Museum in Northwest Mall to hold our meetings! This is a great place with lots of culture and should serve us well to hold meetings and discussions there.
The first meeting is Friday January 17th from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. It’s short notice so we will be holding another one soon.Thank you American Indian Alliance of Greater Houston for opening up the doors. The meeting will be in English and Spanish. These meetings will be held in addition to the monthly HFT meetings the first Thursday of the month (next one is February 6th!). Once certain actions are decided at that meeting the NW meeting can decide to join or create similar events in their area.
We hope to see the NW Free Thinkers get involved in community gardening, skill shares, infojams and more! Remember, the idea behind the Houston Free Thinkers is truly free thinking. There is not set ideology behind what HFT or the NW Free Thinkers can become. It is a reflection of the people who choose to step up and get involved. Hope you will come out and let your voice be heard!
Some of the topics HFT discusses include (but not limited to): 9/11 Truth, Genetically Engineered Foods, Environment, Police State, The Federal Reserve Scam, Fluoridated Water, Drug War, Geo-Engineering, Loss of Civil Liberties, Community, Anarchy, the growing Police State, and erosion of Civil Liberties, Indigenous struggles and oppression.
