A former FBI agent has admitted to leaking documents that lead to exposing the Department of Justice monitoring emails of the Associated Press. Former FBI agent Donald Sachtleben admitted to leaking information related to an alleged plot by Al-Qaeada to news agency, likely the Associated Press. In pursuit of the source of the leak, Deputy Attorney General James Cole seized 20 phone lines of the AP and was able to locate Sachtleben. The former agent will not serve 43 months in prison on one charge of disclosing national defense information and one charge of retaining classified information at his home.
