Buy Forever Stamps before Jan 26th or Pay More

(Free Thinker Radio) On December 24th regulators approved a price increase for a first-class stamp, bringing it to 49 cents a letter. The rate increase is approved for two years and is an effort to help the post office recover billions in losses. The independent Postal Regulatory Commission decided against making the increase permanent. Post card rates increase as well to 34 cents. Furthermore, bulk deliveries and package rates are to rise 6 percent notably higher than the reported 1.7 percent rate of inflation. The Postal Service is an independent agency and is not funded through taxes. The USPS has lost billions for years.
