The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is attempting to block the release of a controversial new book by Special Agent turned whistleblower John Dodson that details his version of the Operation Fast and Furious gun walking scandal which has led to at least one American death. Special Agent Dodson went public in 2011 and has requested special permission to publish his already written book but has been informed by superiors that the move “would have a negative impact on morale in the Phoenix [Field Division] and would have a detrimental effect on our relationships with DEA and FBI.” The Washington times reported that the American Civil Liberties Union will defend Agent Dodson.
